January 20, 2021

A new year is often considered a time to create a new look, and that is exactly what the Albertsons grocery store at117 Main Street South in Harlem is doing. The store is in the middle of a remodel, saying good bye to 2020 and hello to new developments.

This make-over process began on Tuesday, January 5 when sign vendor Image National Signs installed LED lighting on a sign affixed to the west facing store front wall. To showcase the Albertsons brand, high visibility, LED channel letters now welcome shoppers to the establishment.

Image National Signs is a Nampa, Idaho, based company whose motto is "bringing your image to light." According to a company spokesperson, "Presence builds consumer preference. Your brand [should] look as clean and crisp as your produce aisle."

In addition to the new exterior sign, the store will see several other improvements. About the store upgrade process, Kathy Holland, Communications and Public Relations Representative for the Albertsons Companies Intermountain Division, stated: "We are very excited about the remodel taking place at the Albertsons store location in Harlem. Some of the updates that customers will see are new floors throughout the sales area, colorful new décor featuring local photos, new check stands, and refreshed restrooms."

The store will also see an enclosure in the vicinity of the load/unload dock area. "This design will greatly improve the appearance behind the store for the adjacent neighbor and improve working conditions for our associates," Holland added.

Furthermore, the Albertson's team plans to complete a total store reset. A store reset is the process of rearranging/replacing fixtures, shelves, stand-alone units, and merchandise, as well as stocking or restocking products according to a new plan. Ultimately, a store reset intends to make a retail business easier to navigate. Besides this large-scale rearrangement of the store's products, the team plans to bring in new items and to enhance the assortment of goods in the non-food category.

"We appreciate the patience of our shoppers while the store remodel is taking place," Holland said. "We trust these updates will help make their shopping experience even easier. Once complete, we invite the Harlem community to come in to experience all that is new inside the store."

Store Director, Tanner Drabbels likewise expressed pleasure regarding the improvements, saying, "The associates and the customers alike should enjoy these updates."
