April Saw a lot of Exciting Things Happen at the Sweet Home

May 5, 2021

April was a fantastic month at the Sweet Memorial Nursing Home. The return of the Annual Easter Egg Hunt for the area youth was a great way to start the month off! Families were able to join residents for the Easter Holiday and took in the Easter Egg hunt with the residents. It was a fantastic day for all, the weather was nice the turnout was great and their were smiles all around!

The Kitchen Band was back once again to celebrate the April Birthdays with the Residents. A good crowd was on hand as they listened to great music, enjoyed yellow cake with white frosting and sprinkles, (by request). The band played for more than an hour and a great time was had by all!

Nursing Director Jeni Pula happened to be looking through a catalog and came upon a piece of equipment that could be used with the residents to assist them with walking. After Board approval the 'lift walker was delivered to the Sweet Home and has been put to great use. The entire staff has been impressed with its impact. Resident Terry Vogel stated, "I'm so glad we have this! It makes me want to work hard and some day get out of this chair!"

As temperatures rise the opportunity to venture outside and enjoy some fresh air increases and the residents have taken advantage of it!

A big hit for an afternoon snack is always Ice Cream and the Activities Staff likes to put a smile the residents faces by meeting their demand.

There is always something happening in the Activities Room. Sometimes it's just a social gathering with coffee and juice before a scheduled activity. It could be an episode of AFV showing on the TV, coloring a Johnny Cash Concert or even a puzzle. There is something for the residents to enjoy when there isn't a scheduled activity.
