Chinook's Crystal Hofer Finishes 8th at State C Golf Tournament in Bozeman

Chinook senior Crystal Hofer turned in a round of 51-46 97 on day two of the Class State Girls Golf Tournament to move her into an eighth place tie and garner her All-State recognition. Hofer finished the tournament with a 104-97 201 to earn her medal.

The Chinook Sugarbeeter Boys and Girls Golf teams concluded their 2021 season this past week at the Riverside Country Club in Bozeman, Montana.

The 'Beeters sent four boys and three girls to Bozeman to compete on the big stage. Senior Crystal Hofer shined the brightest earning All-State recognition in the process.

Hofer finished eighth in the field of 66 on the strength of a solid day two round. Hofer began the tournament by going out in 52 and coming in at 52 for a first round 104 putting her in fourteenth place at the end of the day.

The Top 15 Medal and Hofer was already there, but she had her site set on a better finish. Her second round saw her go out in 51 in a steady effort. The back nine coming in was spectacular as she finished with a 46 for a round two score of 97 to jump her spot in the standings all the way to eighth.

Senior Hailey Bell played her final state tournament in fine fashion just missing out on a medalist spot by one position, finishing sixteenth in the tournament. Bell shot a 58-51 109 in round one and finished with a 50-58 108 for a 217 total.


Sophomore Morgan Friede had a solid state tournament in her first season finishing 45th with a total score 245. Overall the 'Beeter girls finished fourth out of eleven qualified teams.

The 'Beeter boys qualified four for the state tournament, seniors Ethan MacLeod, Erik Pula and Benton Elliot as well as junior Braden Eoff. MacLeod and Eoff both had been to the state tournament previously but each trip is a whole new experience.

MacLeod paced the 'Beeter contingent with a 25th place finish, recording a score of 89-112 201. Elliot shot a 103-103 206. Eoff recorded a two day score of 98-115 213 while Pula fired a 111-108 119.
