Harlem Elementary ROARing Employees of the Month

For the month of May, Harlem Elementary School named staff members, Mrs. Lenora Greetham and Mr. Steven Hopkins as ROARing Employees.

Greetham serves as a paraprofessional for the elementary grades, specifically working with the fifth and sixth grade students. She not only assists in-school students but aids the distance learners as well.

Because Greetham willingly performs multiple additional tasks and sometimes changes up her entire schedule to fill-in for others, she received notice from the selection committee. Janice Gilham, who serves as a Computer and Technology Assistant at the school, claims Greetham fulfills these duties "always with a smile on her face."

The second honoree, Hopkins, is the Building Supervisor for Harlem Elementary. Gilham called him "a man of all trades," adding: "No matter the problem, Steven goes out of his way to correct it, making sure all systems run smoothly in his building for the staff and students."

Because of lingering pandemic concerns, Hopkins' job included additional duties-from ordering copious amounts of disinfectant and sprayers to building Plexiglas barriers for the safety of students and staff. Hopkins also serves as a substitute driver on the everyday bus routes, plus he drives the team buses for many of the high school sports. According to school officials, he, too, wears a constant smile and typically shares some funny story to brighten everyone's day.

As a token of gratitude, the two staff members received Domino gift cards. "Harlem Elementary is very fortunate to have Lenora and Steven working diligently every day to keep our school performing at its very best. Congratulations to Mrs. Greetham and 'The Real' Mr. Hopkins for jobs well done," Gilham stated.
