Mildred Kinsey, 64, passed away due to natural causes on June 16, 2021 at Benefis Hospital in Great Falls, MT. Wake services were held at 6:00 pm on Friday, June 18, 2021 with the rosary at 7:00 PM at the Fort Belknap Community Center. Funeral services were held June 19, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Mission Church, with burial services following. Arrangements have been made with Wilderness Funeral Home of Chinook, MT.

Mildred was born, October 26, 1956 in Phoenix, AZ. She grew up on the San Carlos Apache Reservation. Growing up she was a girl scout, basketball player, softball player, and rode horse back. She grew up a devout Catholic and loved to enjoy the outdoors. Her favorite places to visit were the Fort Apache Reservation and Glacier National Park. She was good with children and loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. She graduated from Globe High School in 1975, and went on to attend Phoenix College, Fort Belknap College, and graduated from Montana State University – Northern in 1997 with her Bachelor's in Business. She worked for the San Carlos Apache Tribe in the Planning and Zoning Department, Valley National Bank/Bank One-Phoenix, AZ, Fort Belknap College (Safe Futures, Small Business Development Center, Financial Aid Director), and most recently the Island Mountain Development Group.


She met the love of her life in 1979, Daniel Kinsey and spent the rest of her life with him. They raised four children Virgil, John, Danielle, and Michael. Mildred and Daniel recently celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary. She loved to visit her sisters often talking in their native Apache language.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel, and children Virgil, John (Stefani), Danielle (Nathan), and Michael (Christina), her sisters Catherine, Theresa, Lorinda, and Janice. Her grandchildren, Adrian, Jakoby, Willow, Roman, Duncan, Rochelle, Lucas, and Jackson. And numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, Reynold and Louise Palmer, brothers Anthony and Lloyd Palmer.
