CVFD Wins Beef Grant

July 7, 2021

Each year, Triangle Communications purchases 4-H livestock at the county fairs held in their service area. With these purchases, they provide eight grants for a quarter of beef. Among the 4-H Beef Grant recipients announced earlier this month is Chinook Volunteer Fire Department (CVFD).

Because of their dedication to the communities that they serve, Triangle Communications (TC) supports events, activities, and projects that address the needs of its members. One of those long standing partnerships enables non-profit organizations in the TC service area to apply for a beef grant to be used in their daily operations or to be used as a fundraiser. Grant applications are due on April 1 every year.

In addition to providing a statement of their mission and a list of the communities served, grant applicants are required to share how the beef would be used. According to the organization’s Treasurer, Debbie Cross, the CVFD will be selling raffle tickets for the beef beginning this week.

“The money will be used to update equipment,” Cross told reporters. “That’s what I reported on the grant application, and right now with the price of beef, who wouldn’t want to win that prize?”

Tickets can be purchased from any volunteer fire fighter. The winner will be drawn sometime in August.
