The Chinook Lions and Harlem Water Dragon Swim Teams were in Lewistown this past weekend at the Montana Federation of Swimmers Eastern Divisional. Chinook finished with 421 points in qualifying 18 swimmers (10 girls/8 Boys) for the State Meet this weekend in Columbia Falls. Harlem scored 256 points and will send 16 swimmers (9 Girls/7 Boys) to the state meet.

The Lions had two individuals claim High Point Trophies with Katie Tilleman (11-12 Girls) and Britton Elliot (15-9 Girls) winning their respective divisions. Harlem's Shayne Stiffarm secured another High Point award in the boys 13-14 age group.

Stiffarm has spent much of the summer season smashing pool records week in and week out. At the Eastern Divisional, Stiffarm established new pool records in each of his three individual events. This marked the second straight week that he accomplished that feat.

He began the weekend shattering the 200 Meter 13-14 Boys Individual Medley record Saturday morning, completing two lengths of each discipline in 2:41.24 to set the new mark.

Sunday he began the day with a record breaking performance in the 50 Meter Butterfly, hitting the touch pad in :29.88 easily winning the event. He concluded his weekend swim with another record in the 100 Meter Butterfly with an effort of 1:10.29.

Chinook's Katie Tilleman has won the girls 11-12 High Point each week this season and her swim at the Eastern Divisional was no different. Tilleman isn't just winning each week, her times in each event are steadily improving each time she dives in the pool.

Tilleman nearly cracked the thirty second barrier in the 50 Meter Freestyle, finishing with a time of :30.04 to win going away. Tilleman then showed great improvement in winning the 50 Meter Breaststroke in :38.98.

Tilleman's final swim of the weekend came with an impressive performance in the 50 Meter Backstroke where she outpaced the competition with a time of :36.31.

Britton Elliot will head to Columbia Falls on a roll after capturing top honors in the Senior Girls (15-19) Division. Elliot won two individual events, the first being the 50 Meter Freestyle with a time of :29.84. Elliot also won the 100 Meter Backstroke with a time of 1:20.71.

Sandwiched in between her wins was a runner up performance in the 100 Meter Freestyle where she completed the four lengths of the pool in 1:07.50.

Also winning individual events for the Chinook Lions was Dentin DePriest in both the 13-14 Boys 100 Meter Breaststroke (1:21.03) and the 200 Meter Freestyle (2:19.97). DePriest along with teammates Daniel Tilleman, Kolton DePriest and Brockton Elliot won the 13-14 Boys 200 Meter Freestyle Relay as well.

Andrew Rasmussen added another individual win to the Harlem total in the 15-19 Senior Boys 100 Meter Freestyle where he broke the one-minute mark with a time of :59.96.
