Hays/Lodge Pole Celebrates Homecoming at Last!

October 13, 2021

Senior Thunderbird Runningback Tyshawn Shambo looks for an opening to run through in the Badger defense Saturday afternoon during their Homecoming game with Cascade.

Finally, The Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbirds were able to celebrate Homecoming. After being forced to cancel in 2020 and facing a ton of uncertainty to start this season they were able to have a fun and exciting week. A huge Pep Rally was held Friday at the High School

Saturday, prior to the start of their contest with the Cascade Badgers the Thunderbirds honored their seniors with their Senior Day walk. Homecoming Royalty were also announced at halftime and a beautiful day for football was enjoyed by all in attendance.

As far as the game goes, the Badgers had the momentum from start to finish in defeating the Thunderbirds, but that didn't take away from the kids finally being able to celebrate on the field culminating a much needed Homecoming!

Despite the score, a 83-13 setback, the Thunderbirds were thrilled to crown a Homecoming King, Vincent Chandler and a Homecoming Queen Rylee Werk in front of the home town crowd.

The Thunderbirds were waiting to see if they could play one more seeded game before seasons end. Check with the school office for more information.
