Blaine County Library

November 24, 2021

The library will be closed Thursday November 25th in observation of Thanksgiving Day. We will be open regular hours Friday.

Blaine County Library Board of Trustees will have their regular monthly meeting Monday November 29th at 4:30 p.m. The library will be closed from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., due to staffing issues.

During the month of November, we are having a Thanksgiving Book Sale! We will give you a big bag and you can put as many books as you can fit in it for $3.00.

We have a couple of non-fiction books and several novels available this week. “Atomic Habits” by James Clear will teach you an easy & proven way to build good habits & break old ones. “Beautiful Boards” by Maegan Brown will show you the steps to making 50 amazing snack boards for any occasion. “The Dark Hours” by Michael Connelly is a Renee Ballard and Harry Bosch novel. “State of Terror” by Louise Penny and Hillary Rodham Clinton is a unique and utterly compelling international thriller. “The Left-Handed Twin” by Thomas Perry is a Jane Whitefield novel. FBI Agent Atlee Pine’s harrowing search for her long-lost sister Mercy reaches a boiling point in the breakneck thriller, “Mercy” by David Baldacci.

We have three new videos available this week: Black Widow, Cruella, and Luca.

We continue to have a good turnout for our Code Girls United program, and we are so thankful for those who took the training to be instructors. We have a great group who are instructing the class. Code Girls is held Wednesday afternoons from 3:30 to 5:00 during the school year. You can get more information about the program on their website codegirlsunited.org. Girls must preregister to participate in the Code Girls United program and parents must give permission. The registration is open to girls in grades 4 through 8 and between the ages of ten and fourteen. Girls must be no older than 14 on August 1, 2022. The program is free for girls and all materials will be supplied. There will be an opportunity to compete in National competitions and be awarded scholarships. Girls can register online now by going to codegirlsunited.org. On the home page under the registration tab, select Chinook and fill out the form. If you are interested in helping or know someone who could help us, please call the library at 357-2932 or send an email to blcolib@itstriangle.com.
