The American Red Cross held its community blood drive in Chinook

November 24, 2021

The American Red Cross held it's community blood drive in Chinook on Tuesday November 9th at Waller Hall. Thanks to all of our donors, we collected 50 units on a goal of 47.

We had two first time donors, Stepahnie Grimes and Anna Morrow. Linda Thompson reached 8 gallons, Sandra Boardman 9 gallons Wilma Melville 8 gallons, Kasie McIntosh 4 gallons and Cindy Haney 2 gallons.

The canteen was hosted by the Alliance Church and keeping the plates of sandwiches, chips and sweet treats full throughout the drive were Judy Stegmeir, Nellie Nicholson and Melanie Qualls.

Pastor Jack Mattingly and the United Methodist Church once again so graciously provided the site for the drive at Wallner Hall. Set up for the drive was accomplished by Carla Jenewein and Roxanne and Terry Townsend. Clean up after the drive was made possible by Chrissy Downs and the Jump Youth Group. There are a lot of tables and chairs to move around and their willingness to assist is appreciated more than you know.

Door Prizes were donated by the Alliance Church and North Central Montana Cattlewomen. Taking home door prices were Nora Conner, Sandra Boardman, Diana Rieshus, Erica Smith, Ben Hall, Anna Morrow and Brooke Pruttis.

Others who most certainly need to be recognized for their willingness to contribute to the smooth running of the drive each time are the ladies at the welcome table: Linda Thompson and Roxanne Townsend. And las, but certainly not lease, Paulette Keller, who always gets those beef gift certificates delivered to me promptly before each drive.

To each and every one of you, thank you for your willingness to donate and to participate in one way or another. It couldn't be done without you.

Sincerely Carla Jenewein, Red Cross Blood Drive Coordinator for Chinook.
