Save the Date for the Brew Fest Coming in February

December 29, 2021

The Blaine County Fair Foundation invites Blaine County residents to save the date, February 5, 2022, for their Third Annual Brew Fest. The event, which is slated to begin at 4:00 p.m., will take place in the Commercial Building on the Blaine Country Fair Grounds.

According to one of the brew fest organizers, Loren Skoyen, multiple breweries have been contacted and four have already confirmed that they will have representatives pouring hand-crafted Montana beers. The two Havre Breweries—Triple Dog and Viszla—will be present, as will Big Spring Brewing from Lewistown, and Beaver Creek Brewery from Wibaux.

“We’re working on more, plus we will have 18 brews on tap with the beer cooler from Havre Distributors,” Skoyen reported. “We might also get a beer from Hell’s Kitchen out of Medicine Hat, Alberta, brewed by Ty Pyette—the son of Jay Pyette.”

Music at the event will be provided by the Milk River Band, who will add their brand of creative energy to the celebration. The band plays a mix of cover songs and their own original traditional-style country music, with each band member bringing a unique tone and contribution to the stage. Band members are Auddo Flansburg, vocals, lead guitar, steel guitar; Val Barnett, vocals, rhythm guitar; Brady Skramstad, bass guitar, vocals; and Chancin Solomon on drums.

In addition to music, food will add to the festivities. Traveling tacos and super nachos will be available for purchase, and a variety of silent auction items will be up for bid.

After paying the Brew Fest entry fee, a person will receive a commemorative glass in addition to two drink tokens. Glasses this year will be etched with Blaine County Brew Fest and will also bear the names of two of the sponsors: Outback Power and Redrock Power. Additional drink tokens can be purchased at the Brew Fest.

Proceeds from the event will go towards purchasing new bleachers in the beer gardens at the Blaine County Fairgrounds.
