We've Got The County Covered
The pandemic continues to influence so many facets of our lives, and the impacts are having a pronounced effect on the entertainment industry, as well. Montana Actors’ Theater (MAT) announced last week that changes in scheduled events are in order as a result of the corona virus.
According to a MAT spokesperson, the cast of Spamalot was rehearing regularly and preparing for production when the pandemic stepped in. Multiple positive cases within the cast effectively shut down the theater. Currently, everyone is once again healthy, rehearsals have resumed, and the cast and crew are set to perform their version of Spamalot.
Given this temporary setback, Spamalot will now open on Friday, January 28, run again on January 29, and then offer performances on February 3-5 and February 10-12. All shows are scheduled for 8:00 nightly.
The delay with that production, however, will impact the remainder of MAT’s season. Andi Daniel, Marketing Director for MAT, wished to share those schedule revisions.
The Harvest will open on Friday, March 4, run again on March 5, and then take the stage on March 10-12 and March 17-19.
Anastasia, a co-production with the Havre High School Theatre, remains on its original dates of March 24-26 and March 31-April 2 at 7:00 p.m. However, two matinee performances have been added for 2:00 p.m. on March 26 and April 2.
“Unfortunately, the Speakeasy Mardi Gras event scheduled in February is a casualty of these changes,” Daniel reported. “Since we simply don’t have the resources to offer that event as well as stage these shows, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel it.”
She added: “We sincerely hope that these are the last changes that we will need to make, and we thank you all for your patience and understanding. Thank you as well for your constant support of the arts in our community; we can’t wait to see you at the shows!”
Anyone who purchased tickets for an event that has been rescheduled is asked to contact MAT at tickets@mtactors.com or 406-300-0873 for an exchange or refund.
Other shows for the season: Charlie’s Aunt (dinner theatre), Blue/Orange, Happily Ever Before, and Macbeth remain on their original dates.
