February 9, 2022

Chinook resident Anjanett Hawk is excited to hosting a showing of her popular collection of stretch Canvas prints. The Gallery will be on display this Sunday and Monday in the old Pizza Pro location across from Dan's Napa on Main Street in downtown Chinook. The prints pictured above, will be on display as part of her substantial collection.

Chinook resident Anjanett Hawk has long had a passion for the arts. Theatre and photography as well as commercial and voiceover work. Add that to her love of the outdoors and her current employment as a Custom Combine Cutter and as a Fencing Specialist, well you have the makings of some pretty unique photo opportunities.

This coming Sunday and Monday Anjanett will be displaying many of her pieces in an intimate Gallery setting in the old Pizza Pro building on main street in Chinook across from NAPA.

Sundays showing will take place from Noon until 4:00 p.m. Mondays showing will be a more elaborate event with a Spaghetti Dinner being served, courtesy of Anjanett. Refreshments will be on hand and local musician TJ Overcast will entertain, playing an acoustic set with his guitar.

Anjanett's work is known to many folks in the area, but there are many who will be impressed with her eye for the perfect photo. This showing will actually be her second, "I was invited to show my work, as one of the guest artist during the Art Walk, Christmas Stroll in Chinook in November of 2021."

Anjanett had plenty of help with her previous show, "My wonderful friend, Dawn Overcast, and I set up shop. It was so fun, successful and encouraging. The public enjoyed my work, purchased and ordered several pieces. It was a great evening."

The feed back after her previous show has been substantial, "The interest has not died down, it has increased. The support and encouragement from the community and the online community has meant the world to me. I'm very happy they love them as much as I do," said Anjanett. "Before, I've only posted my photography on Facebook."

So from that support she began to contemplate putting together a showing of her own, "I had been asked and encouraged by clients and followers to do another show of my work. I thought February would be a great month to do so and here we are." Anjanett went on to say, "The support, interest an purchasing of my photography has grown to a point where I had space. I knew it was time to find that space to open a Gallery."

Her work is pretty straight forward, and as the theme of her show states, it's through her eyes, "I'm agricultural/scenery based. I'm a 7th generation born and raised native Montana. My photographs are of my daily life, living and working in a small country town. I'm a custom combiner, as well as a member of a fencing crew, I do theatre, commercial and voice over work and I hold degrees in theatre and dance from University of Southern Maine.

Anjanett's vast experience with photography has been a lengthy journey, "I've been taking pictures for many years. I use photography in my life in several ways. Growing up riding and showing horses, theatre, dance, family, catering, gardening, working and living in nature and the country life."

Her time away from small town life didn't have the same appeal, "When I lived in larger cities, I found myself not interested in shooting concrete, cable and city noise."In time Anjanett returned to the small town Montana life she so loved, "My father had been I'll, eventually homebound." She soon was back in the great outdoors and used her photo's as a way to connect with her friends, "Being single, working out in nature (fencing, combining) I'd check in with them during my day, let them know where I was at, what I was doing. I eventually shared them (my photos) on Facebook.

Making her photos available to the general public was a slow process, "People wanted to purchase them. I went with a third party online store and that lasted five months. The quality and product went down and It was unacceptable to me so I chose to leave." In the time since she has been handling sales with clients directly, "For the past five months, people order directly from me. I help them every step of the way. As I would want to be handled as a client," said Anjanett.

Her work has been sought after in the past, but again, their were complications, "Two years ago a publishing company contacted me about doing a 'coffee table' book. They wanted me to use a 'real' camera, with all the equipment," stated Anjanett. "I did try I for a few days but It took away from who I was, and my lifestyle. I capture the shots I see, not setting up a tri-pod and waiting."

So what does Anjanett use to capture these amazing images? "For the past seven years I have been an iPhone photographer. I use an iPhone Apple 13Pro X Max. It fits me and my lifestyle and the need to have the availability of spontaneous shots.

She has been contracted for specific jobs in the past, *I've done several commission shoots, jobs. I had never shown those to the public." In time the idea of sharing them seemed more logical, "About four years ago, I felt comfortable sharing them, exposing my work to the public. I thought people would enjoy the beauty and joy I see every day living and working in the country. A lifestyle that truly makes me happy."

The proof she had to convince herself to share with the public was right in front of her, "What proves that is the viewers, followers and buyers. I work and love the seasons of the Hi-Line, people enjoy the ride. I love to share it with them. I'm living and working the dream, my dream, it is a reality to me."

Anjanett has plenty of product on hand for immediate purchase, "Right now I'm offering stretched canvas prints, framed or stretched over frame. For the showing, I'll also have puzzles and pillows." Those products are easy to get for anyone, anywhere. Simple call Anjanett direct, 406-850-8916 or by emailing her at happymtgirl@gmail.com. She is also easy to find on Facebook, just search for her name.

Plans are to have a walk in studio open on main street in Chinook by April as well as a fully functional website to view and purchase all her available product. "When the Gallery opens this summer, I'll be offering so much more," concluded Anjanett. For now all product is available through her directly. Product can be shipped anywhere in the United States and Canada.
