Progress Continues on Wildlife Museum

March 23, 2022

Clausen Construction crews were out in force on Thursday, March 17, working on the roof of the Wildlife Museum in Chinook. Taking advantage of the 53 degree mercury readings and the basically wind-free day, they made considerable progress towards completion of the project.

People walking across the parking lot at Finley's Food Farm commented on the crew's working like "a well-oiled machine." Six workers-all in a line-would make their way from the west to the east, pick up a sheet of tin, and with synchronized movement, flip it, and walk back west to set it for fastening.

Two scissor lifts were also on the job on St. Patrick's Day making headway on the 45' x 100' addition. The addition will provide space for any number of community events-including meetings, the museum's annual banquet, or travelling displays.

The Blaine County Wildlife Museum (BCWM) Board is conducting feasibility studies on the possibility of hosting travelling displays like those held at facilities like the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman. They plan to have moveable walls in that area, making it possible to reconfigure the floor space to accommodate changing exhibits or events.

Because the BCWM wishes to keep up with current trends and discoveries as well as to introduce educational concepts not covered by the museum's permanent exhibits, they will continue to explore their options to keep interest in the museum high.
