Scholarship Season Offers Funding Opportunities to Area Graduates

March 23, 2022

It’s scholarship season, and the Counselor at Chinook High School, Fay Friede announced that several scholarships are available to Blaine County high school graduates. While encouraging graduating seniors to submit their applications, Friede reminds all Blaine County students that because each scholarship has its own requirements and application deadline, they are advised to read carefully so as not to miss any important funding opportunities.

“There are obviously thousands of scholarships. Some of these are memorials; others are specific to a degree area, like the American Garage Automotive Scholarship. The Blaine County Cruisers also started a county-wide scholarship a couple years ago for students going into a two-year technical program,” Friede said.

With some scholarship amounts starting at $500 and going up from there, the local awards include those listed with their respective due dates:

• American Garage Automotive Scholarship April 1

• Justin Overcast Memorial Ag. Scholarship April 1

• Jesse James Foundation Scholarship April 1

• Blaine County Cruisers Scholarship April 1

• John W & Evelyn Vogt Memorial Scholarship April 10

• Dawn Marie Zellmer Medical Field April 15

“From that list, The Blaine County Cruisers, American Garage, Billmayer Water Supply, and Dawn Marie Zellmer Medical Field Scholarships are all county-wide; while the Milk River Gobblers, Montana Seed Show, Tristan Billmayer, and Phillips County Motor Sports are regional,” Friede explained.
