Harlem Wildcat senior RJ Ramone is joined by family and friends after signing his National Letter of Intent to play college basketball this fall for the Montana State-University Northern Lights.

Two more Blaine County Athletes have signed National Letters of Intent to continue their basketball careers at the next level. Both student athletes are from Harlem High School and just completed a fantastic state tournament seasons.

The first to sign is Wildcat senior RJ Ramone. Ramone signed to play basketball beginning this fall for the Montana State University Lights. On Monday, Lady Cat Chloe Messerly signed with the Williston State Tetons where she will be reunited with her former Lady Cat, coach Laramie Schwenke.

From the time Ramone stepped on the court as a freshman to the time he walked off the court following the Class B State Championship game as a senior, he left an indelible mark on the Wildcat basketball program. To fans across the Hi-line his ability was well documented. Ramone showed the rest of the state what he could do his senior season.

"RJ is a great person, a wonderful teammate, and a remarkable student" said coach Huse in a press release for the MSU-Northern Athletic Department. "In talking with his coaches and watching him play, it has always been noted what a good feel for the game and basketball IQ he has. We are thrilled to have him on board rounding out our redshirt class. He possesses a very solid combination of high character level, strong shooting ability, and excellent court awareness. We are excited to have him on board and watching his development within the college game."

Ramone finished his career at Harlem High School as a Two-time All-State selection averaging 24.9 points per game and seven rebounds his senior season.

Messerly has been a solid leader on and off the court for the Lady Cats, and has always been a team player willing to do whatever is asked of her by the coaching staff. Mainly she was asked to be a workhorse under the basket and often times she controlled the paint against much bigger opponents.

Messerly continued to improve season to season and by the time she led her teammates onto the court at the Montana Class B State Girls Basketball Tournament this past March she could score from anywhere on the court showing off some nifty skills to drive from the perimeter and finish at the basket.

Lady Cat senior Chloe Messerly with Williston State Head Coach Bill Triplett, left and Tetons Assistant Coach Laramie Schwenke. Messerly signed her National Letter of Intent to play for the Tetons this fall on Monday during a ceremony held in the High School gymnasium.

Messerly recently decided that it would be her choice to continue her playing career by signing with the Williston State Tetons. Heading east to play at the Williston North Dakota school will certainly be a big change for her but she will have a familiar face to help her make the move. Former Harlem Lady Cat Head Coach, and Athletic Director, Laramie Schwenke, in the Assistant Coach for the Tetons.

Messerly made her declaration official this past Monday as she signed her National Letter of Intent in the High School gymnasium with plenty of family, friends and supporters on hand.
