Former Lady Cat standout Taya Trottier drives to the basket Saturday night in Billings as the Montana All-Stars completed their weekend sweep over the Wyoming All-Stars. Right: Taya was joined on the court prior to the start of the contest by her parents.

The premier All-Star Team in the state of Montana for graduating high school seniors is the Montana/Wyoming All-Star series that pits the best Treasure State players versus the top Wyoming All-Stars. 2022 Harlem Lady Cat standout Taya Trottier was selected to be a member of the elite squad.

Trottier and her Montana Teammates continued the Treasure States dominance over our neighbors to the south winning in Sheridan 69-59 on Friday night and 68-49 in Billings Saturday night 68-49.

Trottier will head to MSU-Northern this fall to play for Coach Mouat and the Skylights. " It's kind of hit me that I'm done representing Harlem and my community and done playing high school sports," said Trottier. Everyone that has coached her supported her, she is truly grateful for, "They've helped a lot, knowing you have a lot of support and fans definitely keeps me going and keeps me motivated."

Looking back on the weekend experience Taya said, "They have all been good and I had a great experience but HIT had to be the best, playing with and against some of the best girls in Montana was fun and competitive." The HIT, or Hi-line Invitational pits the best of the four Classifications in Montana against one another and is played at the Armory at MSU-Northern.

Playing in these All-Star tournaments heading into college has it's advantages, "It's definitely helped so much, just playing fast and competitive ball throughout high school and playing different teams." Playing for the Skylights, Trottier will once again team up with a teammate from high school, "I'm very excited to be playing with L'tia again and to play with the other girls as well and to hopefully help out the team this year."

Trottier was an exceptional student in high school and will look to continue to shine in the classroom while at Northern, "I am going to be studying health promotion to become a physical therapist," concluded Trottier.
