Today, August 24, the library board of trustees will hold its regular meeting at 4:15 in the library meeting room.

The August Book Challenge is to read a family saga. When you complete your book please contact the library so your name will be entered to win a gift certificate from a local business. The September Book Challenge is to read a book that includes a map.

Thanks to everyone who participated, donated to, and supported the summer reading program. The grand prize winners in each category are Elliot Klindworth, Pre-K to Kindergarten; Gabby Doney, Grades 1-8, and Barb Kolar, Teens/Adults.

It’s time to pick out a new book or two at the library. “The It Girl” by bestselling author Ruth Ware is a mystery that follows a woman on the search for answers a decade after her friend’s murder.

“The Librarian Spy” is a new historical fiction novel by Madeline Martin. Ava receives an offer from the US military to go to Lisbon where she poses as a librarian while working undercover as a spy. In France, Elaine, runs a printing press for the Resistance. Through their work Ava and Elaine connect and discover hope in the face of war.


Sarah Vaughan is the author of “Reputation.” Emma Webster is a respectable politician. She is a devoted mother. Emma is innocent of murder. Emma Webster is a liar.

A new romance by Mary Balogh is “Remember Me.” After Devlin Ware publicly calls out his wealthy family for their deceit he is exiled as a traitor.

After fighting in Napoleon’s army for six years, Devlin is called back home after his father’s passing. With the help of Gwyneth he is able to try to piece together his fractured family.

The latest suspense thriller by Riley Sager is “The House Across the Lake.” Casey Fletcher has retreated to her family’s lake house in Vermont to deal with the grief of losing her husband and a streak of bad press. There she spends her time watching the glamorous couple across the lake. At first all seems well with Katherine and Tom, until Katherine vanishes. Casey suspects Tom but there’s more to the story than meets the eye.

A new DVD is “Downton Abbey: A New Era” This story follows the Crawleys and their staff as they welcome a movie crew and their glamorous stars to Downton. Other members of the family go on a grand adventure to a villa in the south of France.

The library will be closed Labor Day, September 5.
