The Chinook Lions Swim just concluded an amazing record breaking summer season, winning the Montana Federation of Swimmers Class A State Championship. Now, with the season over, summer winding down and kids heading back to school the focus has changed to raising funds for the team.

The Chinook Golf and Country Club located just north of town will be the site for the 1st Annual Chinook Lions Swim Team Golf Tournament. The format will be a four person scramble and will include Mulligans, Deuce Pot, Hole Prizes and a lunch.

The Chinook Lions Swim Team has hosted a three on three basketball tournament in the spring at the high school for years and has served as the teams primary fundraiser. Event organizer Thomas Tilleman has a vested interest in the Chinook Lions Swim Team as the parent of two swimmers and he himself swam for the team as a kid. The funds raised will go to paying coaches, entry fees and various other expenses associated with the teams participation in the Montana Federation of Swimmers Summer Swim Season.

The tournament will be focused on fun and fundraising. Golfers of all skill levels are welcome to play in the family fun event. Mulligans will be included in a teams entry fee and additional mulligans will be available to players for a price of course.

Additionally there will be opportunities for teams to improve their score on certain holes. A team may choose to purchase a perfect spot to hit their second shot from rather than hit their Driver. On a pair of select holes, teams will be asked to draw a card from a stack of five. The card selected after they all have teed off will either represent the players drive they have to use or a wild card that would allow the team to pick whatever one they liked best. To improve the drive they are forced to take a draw, a team can choose to purchase the wild card at that point.
