Antique Tractor & Farm Equipment Show Added to Sugarbeet Festival Schedule

September 28, 2022

The 2022 Sugarbeet Festival will take place this Saturday with activities and shows taking place all over Chinook. In a late addition to the festival schedule an Antique Tractors and Farm Equipment Show has been added.

Organizers are encouraging folks interested in including their farm equipment and or tractors are encouraged to call the Chinook Area Chamber of Commerce Office at (406) 357-2529. These iconic tractors and pieces of equipment are perfect reminders of the history of farming in Blaine County and can only add to the festival's success.

Antique Tractors and Farm Equipment shows aren't new to the area and have been included in the Montana Seed Show and Car Shows throughout the region. The North Central Montana Everything Antique Show had their 15th Annual this past June. Many farms and ranches within Blaine County have plenty of old equipment, with a significant amount of those tractors being in use. I know of one local John Deere tractor owner that happened upon an old John Deere Tractor while visiting a museum on the east coast. While looking at the many items on display he commented, "That one's newer than the one I got at home that I use to plow snow off the driveway in the winter."

Everyone is encouraged to stop by and see the show. If you are interested in being included in the show, park your antique tractor or farm equipment between the start of the 400 block and the end of the 500 block of Indiana Street in Chinook. Organizers add that working equipment and demonstrations are welcome. The show just adds to the long list of things to see at this year's Sugarbeet Festival.

Other events include the Blaine County Cruisers Car Show and Chinook Rod & Gun Club's Annual Gun and Antique Show at the Blaine County Fairgrounds. The Friends of Pool and Park Foundations Annual Brewfest. A 'Lady in the Glass' look-alike contest at the Blaine County Museum, Corn Hole Tournament at the Pastime, Pool Tournament at the Bear's Paw Saloon, Washer Toss at the Mint Bar, Trivia at Rad's Deli & Pizza, a Pie Eating Contest and a Dog Costume Contest. Be sure to stop by and check as many events out as possible. You will surely have a good time.
