Junior Danny MacKenzie and junior Kaden Green combine for a tackle Thursday night in Rocky Boy

The undefeated Sugarbeeters, rankedNo. 3 in the state, traveled the short distance west on Thursday for a Northern C tilt against the winless Rocky Boy Stars. The 'Beeters took full advantage of the opportunity to get some banged up players some rest while getting so many younger athletes quality Varsity experience. When the final horn sounded the 'Beeters had earned a comfortable 46-14 win to improve to 7-0 on the season.

The 'Beeters pinned the Stars back deep in their own territory to start the game. Senior, Flint Annis, corralled the Rocky Boy running back behind the line of scrimmage for a four yard loss. On the very next play junior, Quentin Edwards, scored the first points of the game with a Safety, blasting through the Rocky Boy line to secure the tackle in the end zone.

Senior, Tyler Schoen, added a 20 yard scoring scamper moments later followed by a successful point after kick from senior, Lane Hasler, to make the score 9-0. Schoen scored again on the 'Beeters next possession, spinning off a tackler at the line of scrimmage, stiff arming a defender and scampering to the end zone on a 22 yard scoring run to push the score to 15-0.

Sophomore, Oliver Standiford, then stole the ball from the Rocky Boy Receiver putting the offense back on the field. The 'Beeters put together a long drive but turned the ball over on downs. Rocky Boy cut the lead to 15-8 to start the second quarter. Senior Quarterback, Levi Jensen, immediately answered back with a 16 yard touchdown run. Hasler added the point after kick and Chinook was back to a 14 point advantage 22-8.

With 4:32 remaining in the half sophomore Landen Beck hit the line of scrimmage at full speed, broke to the left and out raced the defense down the sideline for a 39 yard touchdown run. Just 2:13 later, Beck again found the end zone, this time 35 yard run to give Chinook a 34-14 halftime lead.

Sophomore Quarterback, Jacob Metcalf, found sophomore Wide Receiver, Kohen Sullivan, for a big gain of 29 yards through the air. Sullivan scored moments later on a jet sweep, taking the handoff from Metcalf and plowing his way into the end zone from two yards out for a 40-14 'Beeter lead.

Sullivan gave the ball right back to the offense with an interception on the Stars ensuing drive and retuning it to the Rocky Boy 25 yard line. Freshman Zeke Sanders had nice gains of 11 and nine yards before scoring the final points of the game on a six yard run to make the final score 46-14.

The Sugarbeeters racked up 268 rushing yards with nine different players getting a chance to carry the ball. Beck picked up 96 yards on just six carries to go along with a pair of touchdowns. Standiford ran hard, toting the ball seven times for 91 yards in the win. Schoen scored twice and picked up 48 yards on three carries for the 'Beeters in very limited action. Sanders scored and picked up 25 yards on three carries. Jensen and Sullivan also scored rushing touchdowns on the night.

Defensively, Standiford forced a fumble and recovered two in the game and Sullivan intercepted a ball for the 'Beeter defense. Freshman, Brit Powell, was the leading tackler on the night with six. Metcalf added for in extended action for the 'Beeters. Freshman, Wyatt Olmstead, recorded the 'Beeters only Sack and Edwards added a Safety.

Chinook Head Coach was glad the schedule worked out the way it did, "Yes, it was great to get some kids some needed rest as well as some experience for those other kids." The 'Beeters really got a good look at what they can come to expect moving forward, "It was great to see those kids step up and play well. Rocky Boy has some good athletes, so it was good to get those kids some success mixed with varsity players. We are going to have to rely on those players more and more as the season progresses, so it was good to see them play well."

'Beeter sophomore Oliver Standiford simply took the ball away from the Rocky Boy receiver right after he made the catch.

A lot of the 'Beeters team success can be attributed to its five seniors, "Our leadership I think is outstanding. And each week our upperclassmen keep asking the young guys to step up against them because it's going to give us the best look. So, for them seeing the younger guys succeed is good because it means that the further we go, the better we are going to get looks day in and day out. As for the younger kids I think that when the older kids are genuinely interested and excited it makes them feel like they are part of the overall team and are truly getting better," concluded Jones.
