December Has Something For Everyone - Banquets, Concerts and More

December 7, 2022

Every season has its highlights for groups of people to really go all in and have some fun. January, February and March see High School sports fanatics across the Hi-line pack gyms to watch some great basketball and take in some tough battles on the wrestling mat. Spring brings calving season, gardening, Easter and folks really getting outside. The summer months are filled with camping trips, fishing outings, family vacations and of course Fairs. October, November and December begin with the final outdoor gatherings, Sugarbeet Festival, Homecoming and Volleyball, Cross Country and Football. Halloween is a fun time for the Trick-or-Treaters and everyone they get to interact with.

Thanksgiving gets friends and family to come together at the dinner table, maybe enjoy some football on TV or go on a hunting trip to remember. Ranchers get to enjoy 'Selling Day' and it really starts a period where coming together is at the forefront. December is so bust with Christmas themed, family oriented gatherings as well as business celebrating their customers and Christmas gatherings organized for the workplace. Just 18 days remain until Christmas and 25 are left in the year. In that time so many events are happening, many at the same time and the Blaine County Journal thought it would be nice to let everyone know what is coming up.

All Dahl'd Up is currently in the midst of their '12 Days of Giveaways' offering customers featured items at discount prices each day. Shores Floral recently completed a very successful Candle Making class and is inviting everyone to take part in their Gingerbread House Contest they are holding along with All Dahl'd Up. Interested individuals are asked to contact Katie Dahl at 406-390-0403. Entries must be turned in by Friday, December 16. Gingerbread Houses will then be on display at Shore's Floral as well as All Dahl'd up for the community to enjoy and to cast their vote for their favorite. The Community can vote from December 19-23. Winners will receive a combined $50 gift basket from both stores.

The Blaine County Wildlife Museum will be holding its Annual Banquet this Saturday, December 10 at the Blaine County Commercial Building. This is a new location for the banquet after being held at the Catholic Church since the start. December is another change for the banquet as it has been held in the early spring previously. The Art and Auction preview will get underway at 6:00 pm, with Dinner being served at 7 pm.

The MSU Northern Rodeo Booster Club is holding their Annual Cowboy Christmas this Saturday, December 10 at the MSU Northern Armory Gymnasium. Several Blaine County students have been a part of the MSU Northern Rodeo team through the years and the event is enjoyed and well attended by local residents as well. A No Host Cocktail Hour gets underway at 5 pm with a Prime rib and Shrimp Dinner to follow at 6 pm with the Auction and music to follow. All proceeds go to support the MSU Northern Rodeo Team.

The Chinook Alliance Church will be holding their 'Jesus Loves the Little Children Christmas party/fundraiser on Sunday, December 11. All women are welcome to attend. The party will get underway at 5 pm at the Chinook Alliance Church. Babysitting will be available, and proceeds will go to the Friends of the Pool and Park Foundation.

The Friends of the Pool and Park Foundation will be holding the Chinook Community Ice Skating party on Saturday, December 17 at the Chinook Park from 3-9 pm. Milk River Churches will be conducting a Christmas Eve Workshop, Saturday, December 24 at 5 pm at the Presbyterian Church in Chinook. The Milk River Churches include the American Lutheran, Presbyterian and United Methodist Churches of Chinook along with the Harlem Yoked Parish and First Presbyterian of Havre. A Service by Pastor James Johnson along with music from the Bell Choir, Communion and a Candle Lighting will highlight the evening.

The Chinook Meadowlark Elementary held their Christmas Concert on Tuesday, December 6. Chinook Junior/Senior High School students will take the stage for their Christmas Concert on Tuesday, December 13. In Harlem the elementary will hold their Christmas Concert at the High School little gymnasium on Wednesday, December 21. Students in Chinook, Turner and Harlem will begin their Christmas break on Thursday, December 22 while Hays/Lodge Pole's last school day of 2022 will be Thursday, December 15.

Check with you local church, the bulletin boards around town, the Chinook Senior Center and of course look through the ads of the Blaine County Journal to see if something is scheduled that you may enjoy taking part of. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas.
