We've Got The County Covered

To whom it may concern

I would like to give a huge shout out to all those who have come forth to support the revamping of the Chinook Pool and Park. As many are aware, our pool and park serve many functions in our town. It gets used for family reunions, picnics, Girl Scout events, Swim meets, recreation for out of town guests and just a fun place for our kids to have fun in the summer.

As a taxpayer with several rentals in chinook, I understand how people may feel about adding additional costs to their taxes. However, understanding how significant this expense is, it’s minimal in comparison to the overall cost of not having our pool. What would our town be like without our pool and park?

The enormous amount of work and effort that has been put forth into providing legalities, proper education, advertising, applying for grants as well as all the hands on labor to hold the many different events is simply mind boggling. It takes a village.

Therefore, my hat goes off to the many people who have dedicated their time, money and efforts as well as their encouragement, to plan, initiate and pull these events off as smoothly as they have are truly commendable.

Thank you, no matter how big or small your contribution, for all you have done in support of this project. It has been an amazing journey so far and would not be possible without your continued support going forward.

Thank you everyone,

LuAnn Brabson

I would like to commend Heather and others working who are involved in having such wonderful fundraisers for the pool.. I am dedicated to keeping the pool fixed. It is nothing but extremely valuable and vital for future kids and community—I feel it’s our responsibility. My thanks to all for supporting them.

Thank you,

Amelia Funk

To whom it may concern

As the community of Chinook prepares to vote on the Pool and Park Bond Initiative, I write to encourage you to support these vital facilities that have served our community for over forty years.

I applaud the progress and ongoing commitment of the many stakeholders working to rehabilitate the pool and park for our community’s benefit. They should be commended for their efforts to engage the public in the planning process and move toward a shared vision of these enriching spaces. Their work highlights the spirit of collaboration and exemplifies why our community needs to work together to make these updates possible.

Like many of my friends and neighbors, my family has enjoyed the benefits of these spaces for many years. Shortly after the current pool facility was built in 1978, my children joined the Chinook Swim Team and my family, along with countless other families, spent our summers poolside watching our children develop a strong work ethic, lifelong relationships, and a love for swimming. I now enjoy watching my grandchildren benefit from these same opportunities because of these critical community spaces.

In addition to the impact I mention above, the pool and park have been a gathering space for generations of class reunions, family reunions, birthday celebrations, Boy-Girl Scout events, and numerous other events and organizations. Chinook is the envy of many rural communities who would welcome an outdoor pool and park facility like ours.

I strongly support the Pool and Park Bond initiative that will help make these upgrades a reality for our children, neighbors and the many visitors that bring an economic impact to our small community.

Sincerely,

Kitty Tilleman
