Retirement Party Planned For Tammy Williams, Cindy Dennis and Frank DePriest

December 21, 2022

A retirement party is being planned for Thursday, December 22 at the Blaine County Courthouse at 2:00 pm on the second floor. The guests of honor will be Tammy Williams, Cindy Dennis and Frank DePriest. Combined the three have more than 80 years of service to the people of Blaine County.

Tammy Williams has been at the Courthouse the longest of the three. Tammy began working as an employee of the Blaine County Courthouse on October 22, 1984 and continued in that roll for the next 33 years. In 2018 Tammy was appointed Blaine County Clerk & Recorder. "It has been a honor to serve Blaine County the last 38 years," said Williams.

In her time she has worked under two Clerk & Recorders as well as 10 Blaine County Commissioners. "I started with Blaine County as a young gal and my family has grown up with a lot of my work family. It has been fun to watch them grow."

Looking back on her time Williams says it's difficult, "I don't even know where to begin reflecting on my years with the County. I have worked with three different election systems. I have done every job from payroll, claims, documents, budgets/financial, elections and serving the public."

Then and now is way different, "There has been a lot of change and we had a lot of fun but worked hard. I worked most of my time with Sandi and Laurie and we were a great team. I have met a lot of people from all over the county with elections judges. It has been fun meeting a whole new group of friends with the Clerk & Recorder's, especially our district. They are a great group of people and always great help."

Williams is looking forward to what comes next, "As my time closes here, I am ready to start a new chapter of my life and enjoy my grandkids and be able to help my family out." Pauley Miller will step into the position vacated by Williams upon her retirement.

Cindy Dennis began her time at the Blaine County Courthouse on January 4, 1993. During her 30 years of service to the people of Blaine County Cindy has worn many hats. As she reflects on her time at the Courthouse she had this to say, "It has been my pleasure to serve Blaine County for the last 30 years in the capacity of County Attorney Secretary, Court Compliance/Clerk and Substitute Judge. I treasure my experience, yet look forward to whatever the future brings." Jennifer Metcalf will fill her position following her retirement.

Frank DePriest began his time as Blaine County Commissioner on January 1, 2011 and his very proud of what the commissioners office has accomplished during his 12 years as an elected official. "It's been a pleasure to serve as a Blaine County Commissioner for the past 12 years. I think we have done what we were asked to do. One of our major purchases was the Armory that we now use to better serve as headquarters for the Road and Bridge Department and that has helped the department function at a high level." DePriest went on to say, "We were able to purchase some new equipment even though our oil and gas revenue has been down. We completed the third floor remodel where we consolidated the Blaine County Attorney, Clerk of Court and the Justice of Peace. Being all on one level has really enhanced the ability of those departments to function well. It has been an honor to serve the people of Blaine County and look forward to what the future may bring. Shane Fox will fill his seat as Blaine county Commissioner.

Stop by the Blaine County Courthouse on Thursday, second floor at 2:00 pm and thank them all for their service. Let's wish them the best as they move on to the next chapter of their lives.
