We've Got The County Covered
The Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbirds and Harlem Wildcats continue to fight through a season that has had plenty of challenges present themselves along the way.
Both teams are young with very little experience. Both are having to count on freshmen and sophomores to play varsity roles normally given to seniors. Both have proven to be resilient on the quarter, playing hard for 32 minutes every night while having to learn how to play at a higher level on the fly.
This past week saw the Thunderbirds play four games beginning with their loss to Chinook on Tuesday. Thursday the Thunderbirds were in Rocky Boy to face the Stars. Rocky Boy had too much in reserve and pulled out a 74-51 win over Hays/LP.
Friday the Thunderbirds fell to the North Star Knights at home by a score of 72-38. Saturday Hays/Lodge Pole was in Big Sandy where the fell to the Pioneers 73-49.
Harlem began the week in Cut Bank taking on the Wolves of the District 1B. Harlem couldn't keep pace in a 83-22 non-conference loss.
Thursday the Wildcats made the trip east to Malta where they again faced a tough test. The Mustangs secured a 82-49 win over the Wildcats.
Saturday Harlem was in Poplar set to challenge the run and gun Indians. Harlem's youth and inexperience couldn't keep up with high flying Indians in a 110-50 loss.
The Wildcats will face Rocky Boy and Cut Bank this week while the Thunderbirds will take on Fort Benton and Chinook.
