Wesley Allen Main Jr. (Maxbiya-To-Wica, Blue Sky Man), 37, of Lodge Pole, MT, was called to take his journey home by our Creator and Heavenly Father on February 20th at Great Falls MT.

Wesley, or "Lil Wes" as he was known to most, was born on April 29th, 1985 in Havre, MT to parents Wesley Main Sr., and Audrey Hoops.

Lil Wes spent most of his formative years between the Fort Belknap Agency and Lodge Pole areas of the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation. Lil Wes adored his parents being the baby of the family, and he was the pride and joy of his parents. He attended Jr. High at Hays/Lodge-Pole High School and high school at Harlem High School. Throughout Lil Wes's life he loved to hunt, fish, spend time with family, hangout with his cousins, and he was an avid athlete competing in cross-country and basketball. Lil Wes was a Montana state top 15 cross-country runner for four years of high school, earning a 2nd place finish in the state during his junior year of high school. Lil Wes was also an excellent basketball player with a style of quickness, flashy dribbling, fancy passing and deep 3-point shooting. He was a 3-year varsity basketball player and was a member of the legendary 2002 Harlem Wildcats Boys Class B State Championship team. After Lil Wes graduated from High School, he attended college at Montana State University – Northern. In January of 2004 became a father to Alexis Renee Cochran and learned the meaning of true love. In July 2011 Lil Wes became a father to Keegan Gardipee, and August of 2013 Wesley Allen Main III was born. His daughter was his heart and his sons were his pride. His children were his world and he loved them more than anything. Throughout the years Lil Wes worked different jobs, enjoying the variety of life and the thrill of learning new trades and skills. Lil Wes lived an adventurous life, and he made friends that he called his brothers and sisters everywhere that he traveled. Lil Wes was also very giving and generous natured, and he would go above and beyond for his friends. He would give you the shirt off of his back. During his later years Lil Wes became best friends with his Grandpa Melvin "Stenog" Rutherford, and before he passed he was baptized and had accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

Lil Wes is survived by his daughter Alexis Cochran of Fort Belknap MT, sons Keegan Gardipee and Wesley Allen Main III of Havre MT, his mother Audrey (Robert) Doty of Harlem MT, his father Wesley Main Sr. of Lodge Pole, sisters Earth (Max) White of Hays MT, Maryann Hoops of Fort Belknap Agency MT, and Mable Hoops of Chinook MT, his brother Ron Kemp of Great Falls MT, grandparents Geraldine and Melvin Rutherford of Fort Belknap Agency MT, great-grandfather Burton Buddy Bell of Newtown ND, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Lil Wes is preceded in death by his grandparents Gerald and Christine Main, Grandfather Melvin Hoops Sr., Grandmother Shirley Campbell-Hoops, Aunt Laurie "Beezy" Main, uncle John "Wowzer" Main, sisters Winter Hoops and Brandi Hoops, and brother Donald "Hanny" Cole.

A Wake service was held for Lil Wes on February 22nd at the Fort Belknap Community Center at 7:00PM and Funeral Services were February 23rd at the Chief Nosey Center in Lodge-Pole at 1:00PM with the burial to follow at the Lodge-Pole Cemetery. Pastor Henry Jackson officiated the services.
