We've Got The County Covered
Three members of the Chinook Chapter of the FFA will be receiving their State FFA Degrees during an awards ceremony at the 93rd State FFA Convention in Great Falls next week. Torin Cecrle, Bree Swanson, and Morgan Friede have earned the honor of walking across the stage and accepting this coveted award. The trio will also attend a special recognition dinner with their families and the State FFA Officer Team while at the Convention.
About this achievement, Chapter Advisor, Mitzi Cecrle said, "It is an amazing honor. They have worked really hard to achieve this degree. It takes over four years of active FFA involvement, completing the minimum number of community service hours, a continuous amount of time spent on their Supervised Agricultural Experience, and excellent record keeping all those years-all while maintaining exceptional grades throughout high school."
Other members of the Chinook FFA Chapter will also attend State Convention. They earned that right by placing at Districts in seven different Career Development Events: Livestock Judging, Horse Evaluation, Meats Evaluation and Technology, Agricultural Mechanics, Poultry, Forestry, and Range.
Competing on the Livestock team, Wylee Simenson will join the three State FFA Degree winners: Cecrle, Friede, and Swanson. Serving on the Agricultural Mechanics team are Jacob Metcalf, Ben Hofeldt, Kohen Sullivan, and Brockton Elliot. Additionally, Aislinn Handy, Sterling Bemis, Grace Buck, and Emma Klingaman will comprise the Horse Evaluation team while Bryce Elliot, Madi Gruszie, Neva Lowe, and Wyatt Olmstead will showcase their skill on the Meats Evaluation and Technology team. Ashlyn Hofeldt, Grace Buck, Kirbey Hofeldt, and Falyn Cecrle will round out the competitor's list on the Poultry team.
Chapter Advisor Cecrle reported that the Forestry team will not be competing and that the Range team will compete at Range Days this summer.
