Stop by the library this week to see the new titles available for your reading pleasure. “Seven Girls Gone” is by Allison Brennan. In the small bayou town of St. Augustine, Louisiana, women keep disappearing and turning up dead. Police detective Beau Hebert’s investigation goes nowhere due to a corrupt police department. He calls in reinforcements from the FBI’s mobile response team. But in a town where talk gets you killed and secrets stay buried it will take an entire team to unravel the truth.

Jacqueline Winspear is the author of “The White Lady.” Elinor White is a veteran of two wars and a trained killer who wants to protect her anonymity. Now she has been drawn back into the world of menace she has been desperate to leave behind.

“City of Dreams” is written by Don Winslow. This is the sequel to “City on Fire.” Danny Ryan is on the run from the Mafia, the cops, and the FBI who all want him dead or in prison. He make the move to California with his son, his elderly father, and the remains of his loyal crew of soldiers hoping to find a peaceful existence. But the Feds track him down and want him to do a favor that could make him a fortune or kill him.

New nonfiction selections include “Burn the Boats” by Matt Higgins. The author has mentored some of the greatest entrepreneurs of our time and shares his insights, his lessons and the truth about how to attain your dream life.

Timothy Egan has written “A Fever in the Heartland.” This book tells the story of the Ku Klux Klan’s plot to take over America, and the woman who stopped them.

The Book Challenge for July is to read a book set on a plane, train or ship. We have a selection on display for you to choose from.

Children are reminded to keep reading this summer and to bring in their reading logs to earn prizes and chances to win the grand prizes at the end of summer reading.

Weekly programs include Storytime for ages 0-5 on Tuesdays at 10 A.M., Summer STEAM for elementary students on Wednesdays at 1 P.M. and Lego Club for all ages on Thursdays at 3:30.

Teens and adults may be entered to win a $50 gift card at the conclusion of summer reading. Just let the library know when you complete a book to have your name entered into the drawing.
