We've Got The County Covered
The Blaine County Fair Foundation is proud to present the First Annual Blaine County Fur Fest. Coyotes are a huge problem all over Blaine County and North Central Montana. The event is not only an effective fundraiser for the Fair Foundation but also helps farmers and ranchers control in some manner the huge varmint population that can wreak havoc on livestock and pets alike.
Registration takes place Friday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Blaine County Fairgrounds Commercial Building. Calcutta will follow the registration at 8:00 pm and is open to the public. Entry fee is $40 per person/team. Teams can have as many as four members and there is a side pot of $25 added. The Eagles Club is the place to be following the Calcutta on Friday evening. Teams can also sign up on the Blaine County Fur Fest Facebook page.
The North Chinook 4-H club will be serving dinner Friday night as well as breakfast Saturday morning, with both events being open to the public. A dinner will also be served to hunters on Sunday night. The final check is set for Sunday evening at 6:00 pm.
The Blaine County Fur Fest has plenty of bonuses to entice hunters and potential hunters into signing up for the three-day event. A guaranteed payout of $7,000 plus 50% is added to the pot and divided by two classes. Also included is a 50/50 raffle and silent auction. There will be plenty of door prizes to be won, as well as an early bird drawing. Thousands of dollars will be given away, so be sure to get your team together and get it registered to support a great organization.
Like any event in Blaine County that is open to the public, the Blaine County Fur Fest provides an opportunity for the communities to come together and have a good time. Anyone can attend the events if you choose not to hunt. The dinner and breakfast are great opportunities to socialize, and the get-together at the Eagles Club Friday provides some adult entertainment for those old enough to enjoy it. Hope to see you this weekend!
