The Eagle's Landing Calls for a Selfie

Since May 20, Chinook shoppers may have noticed an eagle "flying" around town. Although the stuffed eagle doesn't have a name, the bird will land in various businesses over the next two months as a way to generate interest in the Blaine County Wildlife Museum.

The eagle first landed in Prairie Pieces Boutique but flew on to Ace Hardware on May 30. The idea is the brain child of the Museum Manager, Dawn Colby, who encourages people to participate in the Take a Selfie Contest to win free museum admission for two or a stuffed animal of one's choice from the Museum Gift Shop. Drawings will take place at the end of June and the end of July. "Go and shop small town and smile with the eagle," states Colby.

In order to participate, individuals can visit the business where the eagle is located, take a selfie with the bird, (not that bird, Silly), post the picture to Facebook, and tag the Blaine County Wildlife Museum. With only one photo allowed per location, each selfie will earn the subject a chance to enter the drawing.

Allyssa Edwards, who holds summer employment at the museum, explained that any children who wish to participate are required to have parental consent to be eligible for the prize.

As the eagle flies to other local businesses during June and July, Colby will post each new location on the Blaine County Wildlife Museum's Facebook page.
