This photo shows Ken Schubert dressed out in a Chinook High football jersey in 1969. Ken was selected to play in the Montana Shriner game that same year. Ken's parents were Oliver and Laura Schubert, deceased, longtime residents of Chinook.
I don't closely follow sports and never wrote much about sports. But when Ken Schubert, a fellow coffee drinker at the Chinook Senior Center, began talking about he and wife Evelyn's trip to the 2026 Montana East-West Shrine game in Butte, his story piqued my interest. Turns out the Schuberts' main reason for going all the way to Butte was to see their grandson, Asher Knopik, play in the Montana East-West Shrine game.
