All five branches of the military were represented in the "250 Years of Service and Sovereignty: 1776-2026" display designed by the Block Builders Quilt Guild. The exhibit in the Agriculture Hall on the Blaine County Fairgrounds profiled a veteran from each branch with a story and photographs. The gallery further featured uniforms, medals, and other memorabilia from Blaine County veterans.
One of the specialty exhibits at the Blaine County Fair during fair week, August 3-August 9, was a patriotic display of quilts and potholders created by the Block Builders Quilt Guild. Assembled in the Agriculture Hall on the Blaine County Fairgrounds, the display has an origin story that began with a feeling and a President's Challenge.
According to quilter Julie Bowles, the Guild had talked about doing something as a means to celebrate America's 250th anniversary. "We felt that 250 years provided a worthwhile reason to do something special," she said.
