The Chinook and Harlem swim teams continue to work hard in the pool as they prepare for the upcoming Divisional and State swim meets.

Due to early printing the Harlem results were not included in last weeks edition. The swimmers swam very well in Glasgow two weeks ago and Chester and Malta last week.

In Glasgow Andrew Rasmussen shared High Point honors. Alaura Hawley was a High Point winner in Chester for the 9-10 girls while sister Alaynee won the award in Malta for the 13-14 girls division.

This past weekend in Plentywood the Harlem swim team took three swimmers with Rasmussen again winning High Point. Kyle Hudon continued to improve his time in the eight and under boys division and Taggert Devaney brought home two firsts and a second in the 15-19 boys division.

The Chinook Lions were also in Plentywood and brought home some hardware as well. Katie Tilleman won High Point for the eight and under girls following wins in the 25 Meter Breaststroke (:24.26), the 25 Meter Backstroke (:21.57) and the 25 Meter Butterfly (21.57).

The Lions also received top performances from Daniel Tilleman in the boys 9-10 100 Meter Freestyle (1:24.35) and the 9-10 50 Meter Freestyle (:36.06). Tilleman also finished second in the 50 Meter Breaststroke.

The Lions had a nice number of swimmers making the long trek to Plentywood to compete.

Brockton Elliot earned a second place finish in the 9-10 50 Meter Butterfly and a third place finish in both the 9-10 50 Meter Freestyle and 100 Meter Freestyle events.

Lori Mord swam her way to a third place finish in the eight and under girls 25 Meter Freestyle as well as the 50 Meter Freestyle and a sixth place finish in the 25 Meter Backstroke. Jeni Mord finished third in the girls 9-10 50 Meter Freestyle and the 9-10 100 Meter freestyle and the 50 Meter Backstroke.

The Lions also received nice swims from Amanda Mord in the 9-10 girls division, Micah Conner in the eight and under boys division and Amyerah Kelly in the eight and under girls division as all three swam in the finals on Sunday.

The season is quickly winding down, the Eastern Divisional Swim Meet on July 29-10 in Sidney and the State Swim Meet is on August 5-6 in Lewistown.
