I want to thank the US government for getting back to work. In those 50-some days, I was inundated with calls about the SNAP program. We, as Montana Legislators, could do very little to fix the fact that the United States government was locked down. Responding to the severe strain on the state’s food banks caused by the loss of SNAP benefits during the federal government shutdown, the Town Pump Charitable Foundation is providing $1 million in immediate emergency grants to its food bank partners, including the Chinook Food Bank.
