Photos from: South of the Border: "Side trip to a ghost town: Garnet, Montana"

This is a photo of a room in the J.K. Wells Hotel, built in 1897 and still standing. The three-story hotel housed local miners and visitors to Garnet. The first floor had a parlor, dining hall and kitchen. The second floor was individual rooms and the third floor was laid out with markings on the floor where miners could rent cheaper space for their bedroll.
