Photos from: "If only these guns could talk..."-Gary Asproth

Gary Asproth, a collector of historic guns, poses with an 1876 Winchester 45-60 rifle believed to have once belonged to former President Teddy Roosevelt (TR). The rifle was purchased from the Mickey Kane estate in 2017. Kane was a rancher and big game hunter from the Big Sandy area. The first teddy bear, still a popular child's toy, was created based on a cartoon depicting an incident involving TR on a bear hunting trip in Mississippi. Asproth will have the rifle and other items on display at the upcoming Chinook Gun and Antique Show running October 2-4 at the Blaine County Fairgrounds.
