Last Thursday Governor Steve Bullock attended the Hays/ Lodge Pole High School assembly to visit with the students and encourage them you to do their best this academic year, and make Montana proud.

It won't be long before these students are starting to plan what they will do after graduation. Some will go to college, some to job-training programs and some directly into the workforce. The governor stressed that no matter what their individual path will be, the choices they make today will lay the foundation for each of their futures.

Governor Bullock told the assembly that it wasn't very long ago he was in a Montana classroom just like theirs, and although he would rather not admit it, sometimes he made the mistake of not always taking school as seriously as he could have. But through hard work and fantastic teachers, he was able to become the governor of this great state.

Over the years he has said thank you to his teachers dozens of times, and he encouraged the HLP students to do the same. He explained that his teachers worked hard to push him to reach his potential and the dedicated teachers at Hays/ Lodge Pole High School are working to help them reach their potential as well.

Governor Bullock finished by reinforcing why it is so important for every student to do their best now, and commit to graduating from high school.
