Stop by the library and check out the new materials that have arrived. Two new DVDs are “5th Wave” and “Kung Fu Panda 2.” A new magazine the library subscribes to is “Montana Quarterly.” Movies and magazines may be checked out for one week.

Author Jude Deveraux begins a new Summer Hill series with the book “The Girl from Summer Hill.” Chef Casey Reddick left Washington, D.C., leaving behind a demanding boss and a boyfriend who was jealous of her success. She arrives in Summer Hill, Virginia, looking for peace and quiet on the Tattwell Plantation. Tate Landers, owner of Tattwell, is a Hollywood heartthrob. When he mistakes Casey for a reporter and tries to run her out of her cottage he makes a bad first impression. When the two find themselves recruited to play the leads in the town’s production of ‘Pride and Prejudice’ sparks fly on and off stage.

“Everyone Brave Is Forgiven” is a WWII novel by Chris Cleave inspired by real-life love letters between his grandparents. The day war is declared in London in 1939 Mary North leaves finishing school to sign up at the War Office. Tom Shaw decides to ignore the war until his roommate Alistair Heath enlists. Tom knows he can no longer avoid the conflict. The war will test these three as their lives become entangled in violence, passion, friendship, and deception.

Laura Lippman has written “Wilde Lake.” Lu Brant is the newly elected state attorney for Howard County, Maryland. Her first case is trying a homeless man for beating a woman to death in her home. The trial brings up painful memories of the night when her brother AJ saved his best friend at the cost of another man’s life. The more she learns about the new case the more questions surface about the past. Lu’s faith in the legal system is shaken as she realizes that perhaps she is better off not knowing the whole truth.

Jenna Gray moves to a cottage on the remote coast of Wales, trying to escape the memory of the car accident that killed her son as he slipped from her grip and ran into the street.

The story also tracks a pair of police investigators trying to find the hit-and-run driver. As they track one hopeless lead after another, they find themselves drawn to each other. The twist-filled case will draw you in to this chilling and emotional story. Don’t miss “I Let You Go” by Clare Mackintosh.

“A Flight of Arrows” is Book Two in the Path Finders series by Lori Benton. A Lowcountry Summer series novel by Mary Alice Monroe is “A Lowcountry Wedding.”

Charlaine Harris is the author of “Night Shift,” a novel of Midnight, Texas. Weapons are flying off the shelves at the local pawnshop only to be used in sudden and dramatic suicides at Midnight’s main crossroads. While translating mysterious texts, Lemuel the vampire discovers what draws witches, werewolves, killers and psychics to Midnight. Now they must come together to stop the bloodshed.
