What 'Cher Point

The Denver Bronco Football Team went a calling at the White House last week. It is customary for winners of last season’s Super Bowl to come a calling.

While there President Obama made a funny so to speak. It was a funny that must have crushed the ego of one large ego, Peyton Manning.

All the while the team was at the White House and President Obama was bragging them up, he avoided any mention at all of Peyton Manning. He also reminded the Broncos that he is a large Chicago Bears fan.

The only thing not reported was whether Montana quarterback Brock Osweiler was there or not. Probably not I would think.

Anyway as to the President’s little funny, he did not mention Manning at all while bragging up the team and mainly the defense. Finally at the end of the program, Obama said, “And we can’t forget to mention the heart and soul of this team’s offensive firepower, Kicker Brandon McManus.”

Everyone laughed including Manning that he was not mentioned. But then the President said that anybody who has been a football fan during Manning’s tenure has watched one of the greatest Hall of Fame careers ever.”

Still in Bronco land but in one of the more seedy parts of it, the Broncos are without Aqib Talib as the cornerback recovers from a gunshot would he got in Dallas over the last weekend. Some are saying that the from the way the wound went into his thigh, it could have been self inflicted. Talib is supposed to make a full recovery but since Talib has had other fire arms incidents in his past is facing legal consequences and the NFL looking into his life in general.

Of course Coach Gary Kubiak wants Talib back and on the field as soon as possible as he is needed.

Too bad their attitude is not on our team can you play with guns or football but not both.

That would stop some of this crazy stuff that goes on year after year for no reason. That is what is needed across the board in the NFL. Play with guns, whether you are the shooter or the one shot and you will not be playing for the NFL. Period!

Meanwhile over in Seattle Land, it seems as if there was some question as to whether Marshawn Lynch is really retired or not. So, he came out of retirement to do a show on CBS Sports in which he was quoted in saying, “No, I’m done, I’m done. I enjoyed my time playing and now it’s time to watch my cousins do their thing.”

There has been a lot of speculation that Lynch would really like to play his last years with his home town team, the Oakland Raiders. But, not to be or so he says.

That’s my story and I am sticking to it. Go Thunderbirds!
