We've Got The County Covered

Blaine County Library

The Library will be closed Monday October 10, 2016 in observation of Columbus Day.

Mark your calendars for Thursday December 1st. That is the date for the 25th Annual Hassle Free Christmas Program and as always we will have presentations and wonderful food.

Wednesday Movies have begun. We will show a movie every Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. The movie today will be “Brooklyn”, which runs for 1 hour and 51 minutes. Everyone is welcome to attend and refreshments will be served. “My Lucky Elephant” will be the movie next Wednesday. If anyone has a request for a movie to be shown, please let us know. October movies are already planned, but we are open to suggestions for November.

Library staff will be doing a MontanaLibrary2Go Tutorial class on Monday October 24th at 6:00 p.m. Not familiar with MontanaLibrary2Go? MontanaLibrary2Go offers a collection of over 25,000 contemporary, classic, and bestseller downloadable and streaming audiobooks and e-books (books in electronic, or digital, format) to patrons of participating Montana public, tribal, and academic libraries. Patrons are allowed to check out up to five titles at once, and can download those titles to nearly any mobile device, e-reader, or personal computer; or, they can opt to stream audiobooks or read e-books through their preferred browsers. As subscribing members of MontanaLibrary2Go, patrons of Blaine County Library have access to this free of charge! Find out what it’s all about and see what you’ve been missing. You must have a valid Blaine County Library card to access MontanaLibrary2Go. If you are interested in attending this class and don’t already have a library card, stop in and get one before the class. Class size is limited. Please call or stop into the library or the Senior Center to register for the class.

Youth programs have resumed for the school year. Story Time is Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. Kids of all ages and abilities are welcome to attend. LEGO Club is Thursday afternoons from 3:30-4:30 p.m. and is open to kids in grades K-6.

We have one non-fiction book available this week. “The Book of Joy, Lasting Happiness in a Changing World” by His Holiness the Dali Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Two great spiritual masters share their own hard-won wisdom about living with joy even in the face of adversity. Both winners of the Nobel Prize, both great spiritual masters and moral leaders of our time, they are also known for being among the most infectiously happy people on the planet. Fiction books ready for checkout this week are: “Commonwealth” by Ann Patchett, “A Love Transformed” by Tracie Peterson, “Missing” by James Patterson and “Today Will Be Different” by Maria Semple.

There is always something going on at the library. Check us out on Facebook or look us up on our website at http:www.blainecountylibrary.org for up to date information about what’s going on!
