It is almost the end of November of 1909 and those who want to know want to know what is happening in your bedroom at night.

A person required 20 cubic inches of fresh air for each respiration or on the average, 400 a minute and in ten hours of sleep, he or she consumes 130 cubic feet of air. The air of a bedroom ten feet square and having doors and windows closed and occupied by one person would become unfit for respiration in four hours. In the case of two occupying the room, the time would be, of course, decreased to two hours. Keep your doors and windows open!

Our Senator Clark from Butte was asked if he were fond of music.

Ed Redwing, a stockman from the Henry Basin country was procuring supplies in Chinook early last week for Thanksgiving.

Simon Pepin, one of the most broadly known persons of Northern Montana and one of the original founders of Havre has been confined to his bed for the past week with an attack of pneumonia, that for a long time gave the physicians, his relatives and friends considerable concern. He is getting along nicely at this time and Dr. Almas, the attending physician, assures a success and that he will soon be again all right.

If someone would invent a machine that would decrease the amount of wind blowing about Havre of late, that would be wonderful for this is a simply great climate but the winds are sometimes a little much, especially this time of year.

Ed Lawlor, one of the best known old timers in this section, this week brought a load of apples to Chinook from his ranch in the Bear Paws south of Chinook. If anyone had a doubt about the adaptability of the land around here to grow most anything, they should eat some of these apples. They are simply wonderful!

They are as fine an apple as could be, of a giant size and perfect content and so juicy that one must hang a handkerchief before his mouth before biting into one of these apples. No finer apples have ever come into Chinook and Havre from anywhere far away then these coming from Mr. Lawlor’s orchards.

With the approach of winter and the consequent slacking of all branches of work requiring manual labor, the recruiting statement from F. A. Buttrey has received more application for enlistment than ever before. Mr. Buttery has hired sixteen men to work in his store through the winter.

The football game between Havre and Fort Assinniboine here Sunday has resulted in a victory for Havre with the score of 22 to 0. The Havre team made four touch downs and two good kicks.
