The Harlem Public Library is observing Banned Books Week September 25-September 29. Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read. This observance brings together the entire book community; librarians, booksellers, publishers, journalists, teachers and readers of all types in shared support of the freedom to seek and to express ideas. Do not take your freedom to read for granted - celebrate your freedom to read! Stop by the library and take part in the “Guess the Banned Book” game. On Thursday, September 28th at 6 P.M. we will be showing the movie “Footloose,” a movie about fighting for your rights!

Triangle Communications is presenting a free class “Basic Internet and Email” at the library on Wednesday, September 27, 6:30-8:30 P.M. Contact the library if you are interested in attending or for more information at 353-2712.

The library will close at noon on Tuesday, September 26 so the staff may attend training.


Remember Lego Club is meeting at a new time, 4:30-5:30 P.M., on Thursdays. Everyone is welcome!

The regular meeting of the library board of trustees is Wednesday, September 27, 4:15 in the library meeting room.

Don’t miss the Senior Sensation at the Little Rockies Senior Center on September 27. The library staff will have a special presentation at 10:30 on some of the new services available through your library. Carly will also be signing people up for library cards and assisting with MontanaLibrary2Go.

New books available for check out include “The Fallen” by Ace Atkins. Sheriff Quinn Colson is dealing with bank robbers who are hitting a new bank every week. They show such skill and precision it reminds him of his ranger days. But standing between Quinn and the truth is a rising state senator, who is part of the Dixie Mafia.

A new Isabel Dalhousie novel by Alexander McCall Smith is “A Distant View of Everything.” “Broken Glass” is the latest installment in the Mirror Sister Series by V.C. Andrews. A new romance is “The Nearness of You” by Dorothy Garlock.
