Stop by and see the great selection of titles ready for check out. Paul Cleave has written “A Killer Harvest.” Josh believes he’s under a curse. He had lost his eyesight and his father, a police officer, is killed investigating a homicide. Then Josh is given the opportunity to have an operation that allows him to see through his father’s eyes. With his new vision Josh begins to see a dark world in which sight comes with dire consequences.

David Williams debut novel is “When the English Fall.” A solar storm brings the catastrophic collapse of civilization. The Amish community, well-stocked with supplies, are at first unaffected. But soon they are invaded by the nearby non-Amish English who take whatever they want and unleash violence. This story is written from the viewpoint of Amish farmer, Jacob, who wrestles with the question of defying beliefs of nonviolence to protect his family and way of life.


Two new nonfiction medical books deal with Alzheimer’s Disease. “The Alzheimer’s Solution” is by Dean and Ayesha Sherzai, M.D. and “The End of Alzheimer’s” by Dale E. Bredesen, M.D.

“Final Girls” is a new thriller by Riley Sager. The latest J.P Beaumont novel by J.A. Jance is “Proof of Life.” Keith McCafferty’s most recent Sean Stranahan mystery is “Cold Hearted River.” James Patterson and Richard Dilallo have written “The Store.”

“Fast Falls the Night” by Julia Keller tells the story of a series of drug overdoses that hit the small West Virginia town of Acker’s Gap. Prosecutor Bell Elkins desperately tracks down a deadly batch of heroin tainted with a lethal tranquilizer. Based on a real-life event, this novel takes place in a twenty-four hour period and the events will change Bell’s life forever.

The second in the series of “End of Life Planning and Preparation” presentations will take place Monday, Oct. 23, 7 P.M. at the Harlem Senior Center. Topics include Living Wills, 5 Wishes, and Hospice Care. Even if you missed the first presentation you are welcome to join us. This series is co-sponsored by the library and the senior center.
