Mail Ballots to be used for City of Chinook Election

October 18, 2017

The election for council members and mayor in the City of Chinook will be voting by mail ballot. This type of election allows the voter the convenience of voting at home and simply returning the ballot by mail or delivering it to the Blaine County Clerk and Recorder’s office at the courthouse.

No precinct polling place will be open on Election Day, November 7, 2017. Ballots must be voted and received by the Blaine County Clerk & Recorder’s office not later than 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 7, 2017. The Blaine County Clerk and Recorder’s office will be open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Election Day, November 7, 2017 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Notice has been printed in the Blaine County Journal of the Close of Registration deadline at 5 pm on October 10, 2017. If you missed the regular registration deadline and you do reside in the City of Chinook, you may still register for the election by showing up in person at the Blaine County Clerk & Recorder’s Office up to and including on Election Day. Between noon and the close of business on the day before Election Day, you can complete and submit a voter registration card, but you will need to return to the county election office on Election Day to pick up and vote a ballot. Ballots will only be mailed to registered active voters residing within the boundaries of Chinook. If you are a registered voter and do not receive a ballot, contact the county election office to update your information as necessary and receive a ballot.

Ballots will be mailed to voters with instructions for voting and returning the ballots. The target mailing date for the ballots is October 19, 2017.

If you have any questions, please call the Blaine County Clerk & Recorder’s office at (406) 357-3240.
