Volunteers, We Appreciate You!

January 17, 2018

How does one go about thanking all volunteers in a community? Well, one small way might be to invite everyone who has volunteered to come for an appreciation event. How about serving these amazing volunteers pie and ice cream? And wouldn’t surrounding them with the great country and blue grass music of the Stone Broke String Band make it even more enjoyable?

American Lutheran Church is going to do just that. On Sunday, January 21, from 1 to 3 pm, in the church basement, everyone who has volunteered in any way is invited for pie, ice cream and the Stone Broke String Band.

Who should come? Anyone and everyone who has given time to make this the wonderful community to live in that it is. Folks who have volunteered with youth: from school to church, from Scouts to sports, etc. People who have volunteered at the Food Pantry, Senior Center, Nursing Home, Chamber events such as the Parade of Lights and Christmas Stroll, Blaine County Fair, served on community boards and the like. Brave souls who volunteer for the Fire Department, Ambulance crew and all such things that keep us safe and healthy. It’s true! All you who have volunteered your time in any capacity that helps make and keep our community such a caring, supportive, active, interesting and wonderful place to live, work and raise families are invited to this event.

Why would our church do this? Because we believe that God’s work gets done through human hands. We want to thank you, the volunteers, and God, for the abundance of time, talent and energy that is given in our community. Come! Help us celebrate!
