Gifted will be the movie today at 1:00 p.m. in the library meeting room. It is rated PG-13 and running time is 1 hour and 41 minutes. Everyone is welcome to attend and refreshments will be served. Pure Country will be showing January 31st. We are showing the movies with closed captioning whenever possible. Hopefully this will encourage those who may have difficulties hearing the movies to attend.

New books this week include a couple from best-selling authors and several from authors new to our library. "City of Endless Night" by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child is an agent Pendergast novel. James Lee Burke's most beloved character, Dave Robicheaux, returns in "Robicheaux," a gritty, atmospheric mystery set in the towns and backwoods of Louisiana. Inspired by the incredible true story of one Jewish family separated at the start of World War II, determined to survive-and to reunite-"We Were the Lucky Ones" by Georgia Hunter is a tribute to the triumph of hope and love against all odds. "The Roanoke Girls" by Amy Engel shocks and tantalizes, twisting its way through revelation after mesmerizing revelation, exploring the secrets families keep and the fierce and terrible love that both binds them together and rips them apart. Two sensational unsolved crimes-one in the past, another in the present-are linked by one man's memory and self-deception in "Ill Will" by Dan Chaon. "Dead Man's Bridge" is an exhilarating series debut by award-winning author Robert Mrazek featuring former Army officer Jake Cantrell as he tries to solve a series of murders at a small college town in upstate New York.
