Blaine County Library

May 22, 2019

Children can start signing up for Blaine County Library’s Summer Reading Program after school gets out on Friday. Our Summer Reading Programs will officially kick off Monday June 3, 2019. We have fun programs and events for children of all ages. Children who participate in the summer reading program keep their minds active and enter school in the fall ready to learn and ready to succeed. The theme for this year’s Summer Reading Program is A Universe of Stories. Weekly themes will range from planets and astronauts to aliens and robots. We have a planetarium coming on Tuesday July 2nd. For every two hours read, kids will be able to enter their name into our Summer Reading prize drawings. There will also be small prizes awarded for every two hour entry. Pre-readers are encouraged to participate by having someone read to them. The top reader will win an after-hours pizza party. We will have computers available for taking Accelerated Reader tests.

Activities for the summer will be Movie Mondays at 1:30 p.m., Storytime for children ages 5 and under Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. and the Summer Reading Program Tuesdays at 1:30 for all ages, Wednesdays will be Middle School Hangout for kids entering grades 6 through 8 at 1:30 p.m. Thursdays will be LEGO Club at 1:30 p.m. for grades K through 6. We are starting a new program this summer called Books and Babies on Fridays. This program is designed for building language, motor, and social skills for babies and their mommies. The first program will be Friday June 7th at 10:30 a.m.

There is always something going on at the library deeply moving story of resilience and hope. Check us out on Facebook or look us up on our website at http:www.blainecountylibrary.org for up to date information about what’s going on!
