Veterans honored at Wasay Wakpa Wachi Powwow

July 24, 2019

Lodge Pole, Montana welcomed all to the Wasay Wakpa Wachi Powwow this past weekend. Amongst all the pageantry and dancing and music was a time set aside to honor some of our most deserving veterans. Pictured above is Veteran John Spence giving his relative, WWll Veteran Robert Cochran a Star Quilt. There are only two surviving Fort Belknap WWll Veterans with Cochran being one and Cranston Hawley the other. Both were honored at the Pow Wow. The Fort Belknap Korean War Veterans were also honored and included Gerald Main, Monty Ball and Ronald Moccasin. Vietnam Veterans, Gulf War Veterans and all who served were also present.
