After playing 18 hole in the Richman Insurance/EZ Mart Golf Tournament players relaxed and talk about their round while enjoying cold refreshments and hot pizza.

The Harlem Golf Course played host for the Richman Insurance/EZ-Mart Golf Tournament this past Saturday.

Thirteen teams made up the field with four people per team. Playing in a scramble format, the tournament began with registration at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Calcutta, with teams teeing off at 10:00 a.m.

A 'Scramble' is played with all four players hitting from the same spot, the team will then choose the ball they would like to play next and everyone will hit from there. The order players hit in is random each shot, including putting on the green.

Tournament rules required each team to use a minimum of three drives, through the 18 holes, from each team member. Also included for each team was 1 Mulligan that could be used by all four players to re-hit a shot, one 'Super Mulligan' that gave each team a second shot. In addition each team member had one individual mulligan they could use at any time.

Don Richman, Marty Dirden, Lyle and Kim Faulkinberry and the rest of the crew did a fantastic job hosting the tournament. Doug McCracken and his staff at the EZ-Mart in Harlem delivered fresh made Ham, Turkey and Beef Hoagie Sandwiches for players to enjoy while coming through the clubhouse on the turn.

Following completion of their round players were treated to hot, straight out of the oven, pizza delivered by the EZ Mart staff.

After all the teams finished their round and scores were tabulated.

Finishing first overall was Tom Hass and his team from Havre. First place net went to the Milk River Pharmacy. Second place net was the Back 9 Bandits while Marty Dirden's team finished third net.

Players and teams were also given the opportunity to win something for themselves. Scattered around the course were 16 hole prizes that ranged from new clubs a range finder, balls and prize baskets.

At the end of the day a good time was had by all and the Harlem Golf Course benefited the most.
