Chinook Golf Course gets assist from local crew

Ken Schubert, above and Dan Harry, not pictured, put in plenty of time to help improve the Chinook Golf Course. The pair completely renovated the outdoor facilities.

The Chinook Golf and Country Club was the benefactor of nearly 100 man hours turned in by club members Ken Schubert and Dan Harry.

Ken and Dan took it upon themselves to improve the outdoor facilities at the course that had become a bit of an eyesore to many.

"My wife (Evelyn) volunteered," joked Schubert. "I was thinking I'd just throw a couple of coats of paint on it, call it good. One thing led to another and here we are."

When all was said and done Dan and Ken replaced all the siding on the outside and installed FRP board on the inside. They installed Plexiglas in the skylight to improve lighting and painted the floors with non skid paint.

The building got a new roof in 2018 when Chris Adkins donated his time to replace it. With the latest addition guests will feel more inclined to use the facilities, improving their visit to the course.
